SLEEP OVER!

In about 11 minutes I am going to be on my way out to West Jordan to pick up my nieces Madison & Rachel, as well as trade cars with Christy. Then from there I will be on my way out to Stansbury park to pick up my nieces Janalyn, Hannah and Eliza. Tonight Travis and I will have a house full of girls. Travis's side of the family we do monthly birthday dinners and usually do gifts. However this year we decided instead of giving gifts we'd save the money and do a family vacation. I felt bad for not doing gifts for the kids so Travis and I invite them over for a sleep over. January was Eliza's 4th birthday then in February it was Madison's 11th birthday. Hannah's 7th birthday is coming up in March so.. what better way to hit two birds with one stone. We invited Rachel just to come along to join the fun. I will have all my nieces but two who are 2 years old and younger.

So I will update you on how it goes, if I survive (just kidding)!

Baby Shower 2/14/09

February 14th I planned a baby shower for my sister in law Christy's niece. We did the baby shower at 3:30 PM. I made an Oriental Chicken Salad, tortilla wraps, we had mimi cupcakes, brownies a veggie tray.

Madison & Rachel attended the party
Tori with her mom Camille

Tori with her Grandma Carol
Tori with her step mom & sisters

We played some really fun games. One of them we had to match the candy to the pregnancy word (example: saltine crackers= 1st trimester, you know how they help nausea). Then we also played a game naming baby animal names (example: Raccoon’s baby name is a kit).

I also had them guess how many M & M’s in a container, and we did the guess how big the pregnant mother to be is. I had baby bingo; it’s just like bingo but using baby words/terms. We used Starburst as the pegs so we got to munch on those when we were done.

Tori was very lucky and received a ton of things from her guests at her shower and Christy's Church was very generous and gave a ton of items to her present that has a diaper bag, tones of clothes, the porta crib, baby pack carrier, stroller, baby monitors etc..
Present from Christy, Barbara and I (it's a diaper cake)

Sweet Hearts

I'm going to share a little about Travis & I

Picture is of Travis and I going out to dinner for my friend Lacey's 21st birthday (10/17/2001). We used this picture for our engagement.

1- Where did you meet you hubby? Travis and I met at Blockbusters in Portland. He moved from Salt Lake to Portland in August and my high school friend Hannah and I moved to Portland in September to live with my elementary school friend Lacey. Hannah and I moved on such short notice that we didn't have jobs so we just applied and got hired at Blockbusters.

2- Who asked who out first? Nobody really ask anyone. I called him first to have him and Calvin come over and hang out with my roommates and I.

3- What do you remember most about him? His eyes, they are very blue

4- What did you do on your first date? We mostly hung out with our roommates and their friends. We went to see Zoolander together with a group of people. Our actual first date was the Portland Zoo.

5- What was your favorite thing to do while dating? Everything, we had fun hanging out at home or going out with friends.

6- When was your first kiss by your sweetheart? Beginning of October. Travis and Calvin got invited to go to his brother Bryan's place for Jennifer's birthday dinner. I was very nervous to meet part of Travis' family. I was very impressed that Everet(4 yrs old) and Janalyn (2 yrs old) could say my name.

7-Who said I love you first? Travis said it first, it was on Valentine's day back in 2002

8-When did you first realize that you loved him? Don't really remember I think it was probably some time around Valentine's day when he told me he loved me.

9- How did he propose? Hate to say it but it was not romantic at all. We had just gotten back from a New Year's Eve Party and it was like 2 am and he had said that before he leaves he wants to get married. He was enrolled to go in to the National Guards at the time. Lucky him he was able to get discharged honorably (he was underweight so they gave him the option)

10-What do you remember about your wedding day? I remember everything from that exciting time in our lives. We wanted to do an outside wedding since our families came from different religion back grounds and wanted it to reflect who Travis and I are as people. We are both really laid back, easy going, enjoy going out to the movies, staying home watching movies, hanging out with our friends & family, love BBQing in the summer, camping, and hiking (I'm not in to hiking as much as him). Any way we got married at Mary S Young State Park in West Linn OR on August 24, 2003 (Travis was working for the Parks & Recreations). We had our family and bridal party come in the day before. My mom and sister in laws Allison & Roni help decorate the covered area were we did the vowes exchange and where we were going to eat. My aunt Nancy made our cake (it was beautiful and yummy). My brother Lincoln created our wedding announcements. We had Busters BBQ come in to do the catering and that was the best BBQ food ever! We were married by 4:30 pm had our dinner. For our reception we did something a little different we rented a bowling ally from 8 PM to Midnight. Travis and I both like bowling and I like dancing but... Travis isn't that great and he kinda embarrasses me when he does (shhh.. that is a secret even though I tell him). Anyway we ended up order pizzas later at the bowling alley. It was a lot of fun and something different! That was our wedding long version shorten. It fit us perfectly.
This was almost 6 years ago and today we are happy, healthy and in love with not just each other but our little OBO (nickname for Eoghan)

Eoghan 18 months

Eoghan turned a year and a half on January 31st. A fair amount of time has gone by since I have last blogged about Eoghan and of course a lot has happened and he can/learned a lot of new things.

As of January 12th, Eoghan is an 11 toother and 3 of those are molars.

He can go down the stairs on his tummy and when he holds the wall or hands he can walk down them.
He has always liked fruit, cheese, & milk. As of January he has come to find that his favorite fruit are Bananas and he loves yogurt. When ever the fridge door gets open he will run to the fridge to get a yogurt out. When over by the counter and he can see the Bananas he will say "nana".

From the time Christy & Theron got Mia (dog), he was very fascinated with her. As time goes on he likes her more and more. He will always say "puppy". I got him this leash back pack (I said I never would do that but.. he is off every chance he gets) and he loves the dog pack. I just got it Saturday and he likes to carry it around and every once in a while he will put the leash in his hand as if he is walking his puppy. It is pretty cute!
Words that are currently in his vocabulary are: Mama, Mommy, Da Da, Daddy, no, please (does more of the sign language and say ezz), uh oh, all gone (does hand motions with his palms up in the air), cracker, nana (banana), bye bye (he will wave and blow kisses) & more (again more of the sign language). He just started saying thank you as of January (he can say that really well). We are teaching him to say love you
He loves to use the hand held vacuum and will vacuum the floors. When I get him down from his chair and give him the wash cloth he will wipe the tray off and then his hand (not very well of course). He does like to wash his hands after he eats, has to have a little soap too. He is always in the dish washer when the door is open. I hope this means he will be a good helper when it comes to cleaning the house.

He got his second hair cut on Saturday Feb 7th. He went to Lee's Barber Shop (in West Jordan). We had to wait a little while, he sat on his aunt Christy's lap putting his hand to his hair. He was watching the other men get their hair cut and seemed like he was interested, However when it was his turn to go sit in the chair he started to cry. Lee was able to start doing his hair cut before Eoghan went in to a scream cry and started to move around. For the most part his hair cut isn't too bad, but you can see spots that got missed or where the clips got him. His hair sticks up on top of his head. I didn't have my camera but his Aunt Christy got a couple of good shots. I will have to get them from her.
Pictures are before his hair cut
