A few Christmas pictures

Here are a few pictures from our Family Christmas (will post more later) that was held over at Christy and Theron's house. Travis' side of the family does Christmas on Christmas Eve. We had Rouladen, Mashed Potatoes, Carrots, Green Salad, and Rolls. Bryan made a Nut Cake (also German food). Everything was great!!!

Bummed

Well today my parents were to have left Burlington (Washington) to head out to Salt Lake to visit for Christmas. However they have been delayed due to the weather out there. I talked to my mom and she had said they had a foot of snow (which is a lot for that area). They don't usually get much as far as snow goes. So... instead of leaving to day to get out here by tomorrow night they won't leave until tomorrow (or they are hoping too). I am really disappointed that they won't be here tomorrow. I have been very excited for them to come out since I found out they wanted to spend Christmas with us out here.

They are hoping to drive out tomorrow and arrive here on Saturday. I am hoping that things will calm down enough for them to come out sooner rather than later. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the weather will pass long enough for them to get out here. They will be driving through this snow storm the whole way here.

Bryan & Christy's Birthday Party 12/6/08

Celebrating Bryan & Christy's birthday's. We couldn't do the party in November when their birthdays were actually in, had to wait for a new family member.

Monday 12/1/08

Today after work Travis, Eoghan and I went over to Christy & Theron's for dinner and to help them put up their Christmas tree. It was a lot of fun to watch every one gathered and enjoy putting the tree up and together. It turned out beautiful. Eoghan loved the tree and ever chance he got would run to it.

We haven't put ours up yet, have to baby proof it! He loves to get into things so... we will have to be creative. Hope to get it up this week or weekend.

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we went over to Jennifer & Bryan's to spend the holiday with them and Jennifer's family. We had 12 adults and then 17 kids all under the age of 12. To be honest I was a little worried to have 17 kids under the age of 12 (was thinking how loud it was going to be and crazy). To my surprise, it went very well. Eoghan only came home with one battle wound from Iola and that is a scratch on his nose (nothing new with that). It was nice to visit with Jennifer's family and the meal was good. They did a potluck style so everyone brought something, made something.

Last year we did Thanksgiving over at Theron & Christy's and Travis and I had made 4 pies (apple, pumpkin, pecan, & Cherry). This year I made 4 pies. Two pumpkin and two pecan. We only took two pies (one of each) over to Jennifer's. The other two were for Travis and I because Travis' Dad and Grandma didn't go out to Tooele. Travis's Grandma doesn't do well in big crowds so we had Travis' dad, grandma and mom come over on Friday night for a Thanksgiving dinner.

I am thankfull for all my family and friends and the many blessings I have been given throught the year and years past.

My Brothers Lincoln & Judson

Lincoln is my eldest brother. Growing up we were not the best of friends, I don't think you'd call us friends at all. Their is 6 years between us and of course as a kid I wanted nothing more than to hang out with him and his friends. I was the pesky little sister. We have a lot of memories, most of them as a child were not always very pleasant (at the time, now we can look back and laugh). As we've grown up and gotten more mature, I still want to be the pesky little sister and hang out with him. However; I don't think he'd find me to be annoying, like he once did. Lincoln is the kind of person who is go go go... Their is always something on his mind and he is always busy. Lincoln & his wife Allison, gave me a beautiful nephew Fitch

Judson is the middle child. I'd say more often then not he was the peace maker between Lincoln and I. For the most part Judson and I got a long, of course like any other siblings we'd have our share of fights, but for the most part we didn't have as many as Lincoln and I. Judson was always good with kids and he loves animals (he inhearited the love for animals from my mom). He is about a two years younger than Lincoln. He and Lincoln had pretty much the same friends. Judson has always been the easy going/laid back kinda person. He has always been able to make people laugh, and is out going. He too is a person I wish I could spend more time with. My sister in law Roni is perfect for him. They are a lot of like, and they too have given me beautiful nephews (Deaken 5, Ryker 2 1/2 , & Thathcer 14 months).

FIVELEFT (my brother Lincoln)

FIVELEFT

"I began working with leather in an Alaskan logging camp, making tool pouches from discarded boots," says Lincoln Heller, designer for Fiveleft, a company that combines his eclectic interests in graphic image-making, leathercraft, and photography.

Reflecting his minimalist approach to construction, bags are made without any glue, lining, or synthetic replacements, only basic materials such as leather, wood, hardware, and thread. "I design every piece to showcase what I think are the beautiful, unique, sculptural, and textural properties of leather, using as little 'chemistry' as possible," Heller says. The results boast clean lines that are timeless yet captivating, suitable for all occasions, and each tell a different story.
Fiveleft's creations are all "containers" of some sort, whether to hold books, coins, or whatever trinkets went into the medieval-style pouches he created for the film Eragon. Working only with vegetable-tanned leather–meaning it is cured with a tree-bark "soup" rather than the more common chromium bath–he then dyes the skins and imprints them for texture, using found objects such as bicycle spokes and antique elevator components–even an old comb.

So far, most of Fiveleft's bags have been created on a one-off custom basis, but Heller is in the process of releasing his first line of men's and women's bags ($250 to $450), coin purses ($30), and wallets ($45 to $60). Even when they're produced in greater quantities, each bag will adhere to Heller's philosophy of creating pieces that are "functional, with a strong visual presence".

Hat

In the winter Travis wears a lot of hats around the house and outside. So in our living room we have a couple on the couch next to our coats, diaper bag and Travis back pack for work. Well Eoghan likes to take Travis' hat off and then put it back on his head. Travis showed Eoghan on of his hats so they could both wear the hats. Eoghan likes to wear the hat and then of course take it off. It is a fun game for him and he really likes it when Travis will do it too.
Here is Eoghan in the kitchen with one of Travis' hats on. When you stick his ears out in that hat he kinda reminds you of dopey from Snow White.

Trying to get a profile of the hat sticking up, but kinda hard to see with it being so dark.
Eoghan in the hat taking papers to the computer room to get shredded
Lets take the hat off

and then of course your hat hair.

Sleep Through Lunch

Sunday (11/16/08) after church we came home and had lunch. I put Eoghan in his high chair and I sat on the couch (right next to the kitchen and his high chair). He was eating and being loud then all of the sudden it was quite. So I looked over and he was a sleep in his chair with part of his chicken nugget hanging out. It was pretty funny!
So tired he couldn't eat his lunch

Their is his nugget (of course I took it out of his mouth before putting him to bed)

Scrapbook

Saturday the 15th, my sister in law Christy and I went up to Farmington to do a scrapbook/project day. We arrived up their about 9:45 AM and left about 7:00 PM.

We belong to a scrapbook club that meets once a month to do a page and learn a new technique (my sister in law Jennifer is the consultant). So I was able to get most of my Christmas cards made. I made a few non Christmas cards too. Over all the day was a success!

Newest Family Member

Friday November 14Th at round 7:30 PM the newest Nestripke member was born. My sister in law Jennifer gave birth to a baby girl. I don't have much of the details other than her name is Luella (not sure if that is how it's spelled or not) Rose Nestripke. I do know it was a long labor which is unusual for Jennifer. She took some sort of pill to induce her and that was around 6 AM, I think things went alright for her. When Jennifer was in labor with Iola (the youngest niece, up until now) she was only in labor for 4-5 hours.

Infections

Over the past 15 months Eoghan has been getting ear infections/fluid in his ears over and over again. October he got one at the beginning of the month. I took him in to the doctor's towards mid/end of the month again and he still had one in his right ear. They provided some prescription for his ears. Once he was done taking the medication he started to get a bad bum rash. It lasted for two and a half weeks. I then decided I need to take him in to the doctors again because this rash was not leaving (it would start to go away and then come back worse). They gave him some prescription cream to use and I had them check his ears again to make sure his infections were gone. So that time they looked ok.

Monday the 3rd I took him in for his 15 month check up and he was fine. Friday the 7th his day care called and said they think he has an ear infection because he keeps putting his finger in his ear. So I took him to the doctor and they were right. It was the start of another ear infection. So this time the decided to do injections rather than and oral (since he has taken so much the last month). So he had to get a shot Friday. Saturday and again on Monday. It was so sad, he was super mad and in pain from his shots.

Yesterday Eoghan's inner legs were super red and looked like they had blisters that popped. They looked super painful and the nurse in my department said it might have been hives and take him in to get looked at. So once again off to the doctors we go and they advised to put A & D cream on it or bag balm. They said if it doesn't look better tomorrow to take him in to Primary Children's Hospital to get looked at further. He said it might be a bacterial infection. I am very thankful to report that it is looking better (hopes it stays that way).

Officially

So I signed up to be a consultant for Discovery Toys and will be getting my toy kit next week. Tonight I am going to go to my first party/training. I am hoping to be doing a party the 22nd for this lady (original person couldn't do it, so I offered), then my mom is going to do one and one will be done at Christy's house Saturday the 22nd that evening around 7 pm. I am going to email/send an invite for it. I got my website started and hopefully it will be up and running by the end of the month. I will let you know when it is up and going.

1st Time Playing in Snow

Well yesterday I told you it was snowing and I had taken a few pictures from my work of the parking lot and mountains.

After work I got Eoghan bundled up in some warm clothes and took him out side for his first snow experience (he went out last year, but too little to stay and play). So we were out there for about 20 minutes and seemed to have a good time. It took him a while to like it though. We ended up getting about 4 inches out our way. Some of the mountains got 40 inches of new snow.

Eoghan standing in the snow, not sure what to make of it

He fell over and couldn't get back up

I set him down in the snow and he wasn't sure if he liked that or not

Finally starting to like the snow, he was eating the snow

Here he is just sitting and waiting for Travis to come home from work

Starting to play in it more

He wanted to take the green mitten off, the red ones are attached to his coat and were to hard to put his hands in. The hood attached to the coat didn't cover his whole head so he is wearing the camo hat that matches his mittens

Just looking at the snow

Having fun sitting and playing

Got up and started walking

Finally Daddy came home from work and Eoghan and him walked in to the house together to get some hot chocolate.
Over all first time playing in the snow was pretty good!

Snow

Today is snowing!!! We got our very first snow fall back on October 11th. The first snow fall of the year however didn't produce as much snow. I just happen to have my camera with me so took some pictures from work of the snow. It is suppose to snow all day. Travis loves the snow and can't wait for more of it.
Here is the other side of the parking lot facing the mountains, you can hardly see the mountains
