Eoghan's Hospitalization 9/7/09
Considering the situation he is lucky. He has been a trooper and is hanging in there. Best case would be we would be out of the hospital and back in Salt Lake at the end of the week. Worse case is he would need surgery on his right hand and that could be 3-4 weeks. We could transfer him to Salt Lake but I figure everything has gone on here so I would rather stay here. They won't fly him so it is a long ride in an ambulance. plus the extra cost for medical transfer.

Memories
Travis and I were married out in West Linn Oregon at Mary S Young State Park. Travis was working for Oregon’s Park and Recreation. The ceremony was at 4 PM, 4:30 we had a Buster’s BBQ for dinner. It was wonderful! So pretty much your typical summer wedding. However our reception we rented a bowling alley. We didn't get the bowling alley until 8 PM so after the wedding we were able to change and then hit the alley. We ended up ordering pizza later that night and had a great time. We had a great time and found our guest have fun too!
Yesterday Travis and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. As far as the actual day goes we didn’t do much. We usually celebrate after our anniversary due to being busy working and the last couple years being with Eoghan. Our typical anniversary celebration includes going out to dinner and a movie. I’d have to say that is probably my favorite date.

Saturday
Then after the market I went out to my sister in laws out in Stansbury Park. I helped her and a friend make apple sauce. If you have never done it, I would recommend doing it. It was really easy and just like anything else time consuming. It was fun and it tastes great!!
After Jennifer's I went to my other in laws out in West Jordan. We had nachos for dinner and watched a movie. We were going to go out but we couldn't agree on anything. So we agreed to stay home and watch something. Theron got me a score on clothes with I am so great full for. Eoghan just got two big garbage bags full of 3T & 4T in clothes. They are in great condition!!

Vacation
I am extremely excited to go home to Washington!! Eoghan and I will be flying out of Salt Lake on Thursday the 27th.
So… I am in the process of washing laundry and packing things for the trip. I am one of those people who make a list, plan outfits, and pack at least a week a head of time. So I have Eoghan all packed other than his toothpaste. I have started my bag but, will finish that closer to next week.
We will fly into Seattle where we will meet my brother Lincoln. From there we are going to head down to Kelso where I will drop Lincoln off to stay with my grandma. He is going to be painting her house for her. Eoghan and I will go in to say hi for a few minutes. I can't stay too long because I am allergic to her cat Tiger.
Then Eoghan and I are going to go down to Woodland to stay with my other brother Judson and his family. Judson and his wife are going to be going out to Oregon to do a fund raiser run. Their boys are going to be with me for a few hours while they wait for their other aunt or grandma to come and get them. While we are waiting I am going to have some friends over whom I’ve known since I was in diapers. They are great friends and I enjoy seeing/ talking to them every chance I get.
My nephew Deaken is going to stay with his grandpa so he can go to his football jamboree Saturday the 29th. I am hoping that I can get out there to see him play a bit. Later that day I am going to go to my friend’s reunion picnic. I went to middle school with these people and have a fair amount of people on my Facebook or Myspace account. I love the internet for those reasons to see what people are doing and how they’ve changed since I’ve seen them.
My 10 year reunion got cancelled. I guess there weren’t enough people to make it worth having one. Which I’d have to say honestly I’m not that bummed out about. I talk to everyone I still want from high school, maybe not as often as I’d like but we are still in touch. Once again thanks to Facebook and Myspace I am able to see what other people are up too (ones that I knew but wasn't super close with).

Travis & Eoghan
I think the both had fun hanging out all day together. Thursday Travis and Eoghan watched Curious George and then they went to the park in our complex. Eoghan had a big time and was very sad to go in for lunch and a nap.
Friday they didn't do much. Just stayed home and Travis got to play his computer game while Eoghan sat next to him watching Curious George on the lap top next to Travis.
Tomorrow they are going to do a boys trip to REI. Travis is very excited about going to REI and spending his gift cards from his birthdays and Christmas.

Eoghan is 2!!
Eoghan went to get his 2 year check up and he is now 34 inches tall (2 ft 10 inches) and he is in the 55% for boys his age for his height. He now weighs 26 pounds and 15 oz, so almost 27 pounds. He is in the 30/40% for boys his age.
As of now he is a very talkative little boy. He has a wide variety of words and is good at putting a small phrase together. He is very active, like most boys he can be rough and rowdy; however he still has his snuggle moments which are precious especially as he is getting older. He likes to be Mr. Independent and loves to help, even when his help is not necessary or wanted.
Over this last year we have discovered that Eoghan loves water! He loves to take a bath, and almost needs one night. He loves to swim at the apartment pool or over at his Aunt Christy’s (Eoghan’s blow up pool is in her back yard). This year he gets to use floties and thinks he is hot stuff because he can jump in the pool and go underwater and pop right back up. He loves it and dreads having to get out of the pool to go home or eat.
Eoghan went on his first road trip in July! Eoghan and I drove up to Colorado to see my dad’s side of the family. My Uncle Jef and his family are from Chicago/Boston and then my Aunt Jean and her kids/grandkids are all in Denver area. He did awesome on the 8 hour drive! We discovered he loves the movie Curious George. He watched that over and over on our way up to Colorado and on our way home. He has the books and really enjoys those too.
Eoghan also went to his first dentist appointment in July. He had a blast!! I was a little nervous for him because I was getting a filling replaced and so he got to do his whole experience by himself. They dentist and assistance praised him. He got his teeth cleaned and they were able to count his teeth. The actual dentist got to look in his mouth too. He was excited to get a new tooth brush and an ordainment for the Christmas tree. I was excited about the pictures they gave me for his baby book and a certificate to go along with the picture. All in all I don’t think he will be scared or nervous to go to the dentist again.
Eoghan loves to eat Cheerios. I can always count on that as a back up meal for him. He is a fruity guy. He loves Peaches, Grapes, Strawberries, Mandarin Oranges, Bananas, & Apples. He doesn’t like Watermelon, Canalop, or Honey dew Melon, which I think is funny. Like most children when it comes to veggies he is kinda picky. He likes Cucumbers, Green Beans, Corn, & Carrots. I think he eats his veggies better at day care than at home. Hopefully he will start to like them more and will try different kinds of veggies. He seems to take after me on the veggies. As I have gotten older I have found more veggies that I do like so... I will be optimistic. He has become a fan of Chocolate milk, which is helpful at times to get him to drink more milk.
We bought a potty training seat and some big boy underroos but haven’t gotten a chance to try them out. Eoghan like the little seat we got (it has Elmo with friends on it). So we will put him on it before he goes to the tub. Hopefully in the next couple months we will start that and get that going.
In the next couple weeks Eoghan will stop going to day care full time. He will go three days a week and the other two days he will get to spend with his daddy, which I think he will love. Travis wants to get him going in to the mountains and start doing a little hiking. I told Travis he will have to take Eoghan swimming and do some fun activities for him. I love the day care Eoghan goes to. He really likes his teachers, and they seem to like him a lot. He is well known downstairs. He learns a lot and has fun interacting with other kids his age.
At the end of the month Eoghan and I will be taking another trip. We will fly into Seattle to go visit my parents, family and friends out that way. I am extremely excited to see them. I am looking forward to seeing Eoghan play with his cousins on my side of the family and playing with my girl friends little boys. However I am a little nervous since this is the first time I will have to actually get Eoghan’s car seat on the plane and get him set up. Traveling through the air port with that and Eoghan will be interesting. I wasn’t planning on taking a stroller or a frame pack for him. I still have some time so we will see if that is the case when it comes right down to it.

Colorado Trip
Once we got to my cousin Cherie's house we hung out with her kids Seb & Charlotte. Cherie had to work part of the day and was on her way home. Once she got here we went to the store to get mixings for dips and chips. My cousin Ryan (Cherie's brother), aunt Jean (my dad's sister, Ryan & Cherie's mom) and my uncle Jef (my dad's brother) & his family from Chicago came over for chips and dip before going out to dinner in down town Denver. Eoghan was being adored over left and right. He was loving it!
Friday July 3rd we drove up to Greeley Colorado. My Uncle Jef, Aunt Kim, Cousins Ryan, Angie, Christina, Jordan and I went to a Kid Rock concert that night. It was a good concert!
Then on the 4th we went to the rodeo up there. We drove back to Denver and everyone got things together for a late picnic dinner up the mountains to watch fire works. Eoghan and I went to stay with my cousins Ryan and Angie. They have a beautiful house in Morrison CO. It's up a mountain and they have 4 acres. Eoghan loved their dog Boomer.
The 5th we mostly went shopping and ran around here and there. We had a family dinner that night at Angie & Ryan's then went to do smores.
Eoghan and I left on the 6ths in the afternoon. It was a long drive home. Eoghan was pretty good but I had to stop a few more times than I would have liked. Over all it was fun and great to see some family that I haven't seen in a couple of years.
Here are just a few of the pictures we got

Vacation to Colorado
Eoghan and I are going to be leaving Salt Lake tomorrow around 2 am (so he can sleep half way through the trip). It is about an 8 hour drive and I am hoping the drive will go smooth. I was lucky enought to borrow Theron & Christy's portable DVD player. We have been testing it out with Curious George here and there. So far it has been working for him to be entertained.
Will post some picture later

Mini Vacation
I am currently in the process of thinking of everything to bring and as far as food/entertainment goes for Eoghan. I am hoping it won't be to bad of a drive with him. I think the longest he has ever been in a car seat was last summer when we drove from Seattle to Winthrop and I think that is maybe 2- 3 hours drive. It wasn't bad though because I had my mom with me.
Keeping my fingers cross that the drive will go smooth

NEW CAR!!!

Travis' SURPRISE 30th Birthday Party
I have been busy trying to plan Travis’ surprise 30th birthday party. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to get his friends to RSVP because the system I used shows who looked at the invites and who hasn’t. Most of them haven’t looked at it so I was able to turn to good old Facebook and Myspace to reach his friends. I have been able to get a hold of most of them. I am very excited and I don’t think Travis has a clue (or at least hope not). I have just about everything I need for the party, just have to pick up the cake, balloons, and an last minute items for dinner. Travis’ new work schedule works out well because he won’t get off until 6:30 PM. He thinks he is going to his brother’s house for a welcome home party with their neighbors. He was a little confused by that because we went over Monday for a family welcome home dinner. Between family and his friends and their families I will have about 40 people, half are kids. So everything will be held out side. It is to be a nice day with out the thunder storms (keeping my fingers crossed).
Pictures will be posted after the big event
Car Hunting
I am now looking at a bigger car. We are almost completely debt free and don’t feel like getting a new car with a high price tag. So we are going for a used car. I can’t decide if I want a Mini Van or an SUV. They both have their pros and cons. The pro of a mini van would be being able to have so many extra seats that we can grow in to (when I say grow, I mean 1 or two more kids) and still have a couple extra seats. They get a little bit better gas mileages than an SUV. I do like that captain seats in them, to make it easier to get to the back seats. I have a hard time seeing myself driving one all the time though especially right now since I just have Eoghan.
I’m considering a Ford Escape, Subaru Forester, and Mazda Tribute. I like the Subaru however I can’t find one in my price range that has under a 100,000 miles. Which I know they last long and rate well on Consumer reports. I have a hard time buying one with over a hundred thousand miles. So… as of now I am ruling that one out. My Dad thinks the Ford Escape would work well because he thinks the backs are spacious (I want a big back area for road trip luggage, stroller and that kinda of stuff). I have found the Mazda Tribute at a dealer and I like the general car of it but. not the one from the dealer. The previous owner smoked in it and I’m not too fond of the interior (they say it’s tan, but more of a brown color, that I don’t think is a nice brown, calls me weird). I was very lucky to have found one on KSL. com and am hoping to go out and see it on Saturday. It sounds nicer than the one from the dealership. It is a couple years newer than the dealership. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is nicer because that would be the car I’d get. I love to be in an SUV so I am taller and it is so nice and spacious. I still have the one from the dealer that I am returning today and putting Eoghan’s seat in that and having him get in it was easy and nice. So as of this Saturday I might have a new car!! That would be exciting
